"Heavy Metal Thunder"
At the start of the 22nd century, space travel and weapon systems developed hand in hand.  Some governments and races could afford the new high tech grav vehicles that were being offered by many companies.  Some governments chose the rough tough stand-by. The age old tank.  New technology was incorporated into these 22nd century monsters. One in particular was the Bengal Medium Battle Tank produced by The Gorvand Armored Facilities on Progue VI.  The Bengal mounted the very latest in weapons. Including the Martel Fusion Gun.  The Fusion Gun uses an energy cell that contained ten charges for the gun.  Five cells are stored in the vehicle.  One in the breach, and two on each side within the turret.  To aid the gunner and commander, there were Laser Detectors installed, to protect against enemy laser range finders.  Also, a new "Identify Friend or Foe" (IFF) Sensor Dome was implemented. The Gunner uses a Down-Link Video Sight, or DLV Sight, and has 360° field of view.  Anti-air is provided by a 13.5mm machine gun, and anti-personel by the a 8.5mm coax.  The Bengal was first used by the 57th Tank Regiment assigned to the 12th Guards Tank Division on Goulon.  The tank performed better than the MK 7 Rantle MBT, and was issued throughout the division.

Lead elements of the 94th Tank Regiment, 2nd Guards Tank Division, move into the Kroulin Valley, after heavy fighting 2 weeks prior.

Motor Rifle troops walk point for the attached tank platoon. The ghostly wrecks tell of the intense fighting.

A close up shot of the Bengal MBT, gives a good view of it's sleek, menacing lines.

A tank graveyard. The battle that played out here, reminds tankers just how their tour of duty could end up being.
(Troops supplied by Peter Pig. Wrecks provided by the Rebel 132nd Armored Bde.)
