With the development
of the Civet Light Grav Tank by the Vankruder Armory Corporation, Military
Commanders flooded the Department of the Military with requests for an
APC version of the Civet. Ten companies sent in proposals for various
Grav APC's. Mericon Developmental Technologies won the bid for an APC Grav
vehicle, with their Raven Grav APC. The vehicle was designed with light
armored units in mind, mostly cavalry and infantry units. The Raven
has six separate troop compartments. This is to minimize collateral
damage to the other troopers, in case the hull is compromised. Main
armament is provided by a Goering-Kantz 25mm autocannon. A Manning
7.5mm coax rounds out the direct fire weapons. For an added punch,
a Tanner Technologies Corporation Laser Guided Missile System with two
Honey/Gaunt 55mm HEAT LG missiles is mounted on the left side of the turret.
Targeting for the 25mm autocannon and coax are via a DLV Sight, designed
by Kayanoshic Tactical Systems. Tanner Technologies Corp provided
the targeting sight for the Tanner Missile System. The power system
is a Norc-Long Fusion Power plant. The power plant is set deep within
the Raven's hull, to reduce the effects of most damaging hits. Conner
Grav Drives propel the Raven to heights of over 2700 meters. Trials for
the Raven started with deployment to the 121st Strike Force. Together
with the Vankruder Armory Corporation's Civet, the 121st became the top
unit to deploy to hot spots first.
