the introduction of the Badger MK I, the 409th Cav was first
to
field test these vehicles. Grouped in pairs, the Badger Recon Sections
quickly
became the units to transfer to. The ability to negotiate narrow paths
in both wooded
areas,
and mountain passes, became the foremost requirement of Armored and
Motorized
Brigade elements.
