CUSTOM PAINTED PLANETS

The custom painted planets we offer, are made of acrylic plastic globes, not styrofoam! Each globe is glued together and primed then painted by our in-house artist. A stand and base is included with all planets.

(Please note, all planets are subject to artist interpretation.)

Here is an example:

We will use the 100mm Temperate planet as our example.

The base color we chose was blue. And our first 2 free colors were Dark Green and Dark Brown. This is the very basic planet. Or, "BASE COST".
(Base color and first 2 colors are free.)
BASE COST = Size of planet.

We could have stopped there, but didn't.
After the basic colors were applied, we wanted to go all out.

The price for "Additional" colors is $1.00 per color,
and is added to the "BASE COST" of the planet.
So, it looks like this:
BASE COST+Additional Colors = total cost of planet.
Our additional colors were:
Light Grey, White, Dark Tan, Light Tan, Medium Brown, Medium Green, Light Green, and Dark Blue.

So, once our in-house artist "did his thing", the above photo is the end result.
The example planet above totals out like this:
(BASE COST) $15.00 + $8.00 (Additional 8 colors) = $23.00 Total cost of planet.

Remember that each planet gets 1 base color of your choice, and 2 other colors of your choice for the "BASE COST". (Except where noted.)

If you want more colors, the additional "cost" per color is added to the "BASE COST".
Below are some examples of various sizes and colors. Please note: most of the examples below have more than the 2 color basic color scheme.

Below is the Custom Planets chart. The left column is the "Type" of planet. The next column is the "Base Color(s)" available for that "Type". To the right of that column is the "Custom Colors".
(For making a "Base Cost" planet, you will get your choice of 2 of these colors.)
The next column is the sizes available.
The "X" in the size box indicates that "Type" of planet is available in that size.
"N/A" means it is not available in that size.
The very bottom row is the "BASE COST" based on the size of the planet.

Please note effective 1 January 2004:
If you choose to have colors on your planet that are not on the above list,
please add an additional $2.00 per "Non-listed Custom Color."
(For example, the Temperate Planet does not have Red listed. If you want Red on your planet, it would be an additional $2.00.)
If you include a map of the planet of your choice, there will be an additional $10.00 service charge added onto the order.
(It is much easier for the artist to "create" a planet from his imagination, than it is to "follow" a map and make it accurate.)
Effective March 2005:
Custom Planets fill and ship time will now be 6 weeks. This means if you place an
order that includes a Custom Planet, you will need to add 2 weeks onto your fill and ship time.
If you just order Custom Planets, then it's 6 weeks.
This is due to having to create entire solar systems for customers!

How to order:

Choose the "Type" of planet you want. Then, pick the "Size". Next, pick out a "Base Color" for your planet, then pick 2 colors from the "Custom Colors" column. This is the "Base Cost" planet. If you do not want any other colors, then that's it. Your price is the "Base Cost".
If you want more colors, then each color will cost an additional $1.00 per color.

Your KIT # will be the above mentioned plus the "size" of the planet.
For example: CP03T-100 would be a 100mm Temperate Planet.
